Have you ever had one of those days?
Where nothing goes right and then on top of it you drop your cell phone and crack the glass on it?
You know? Where it's all THAT bad but then you think about it and it's even worse because you just finished paying off the phone, you're not on contract with it anymore to have it replaced and you let your warranty expire? AND....... the cost for replacing the face/glass on your phone is way more than what your service provider is offering to get a new phone on contract?
So you go get a new phone from your provider and are now stuck with this piece of junk that you have to put tape on so you don't cut your fingers on if you slide 'em across the face of the phone..... now you can just toss your broken phone into the junk drawer.
That's what I did a while back...and my cracked-glass phone sat in the junk box for quite some time, pretty much forgotten.
UNTIL I got some tips from some teens who are using cell phones legitimately to make decent amounts of cash/rewards from their phones - mostly cheap, crappy, old and broken phones. Not non-functional phones, but phones that are broken in the way described above.
In early June 2015, I replaced a phone because it has given me 3+ years of service, is paid off, and started functioning like absolute YUK with what I need for it to do nowadays - which is more than I needed it to do when I first bought it. After service was taken away from this particular phone, I went to put it in my "gadget junk box" and realized I have a couple of devices that are past prime. They are still functional but they aren't up to par for what people now do via cell phone. All of this coincided with me also finding some cool forums about making Perk and Swagbucks money and earnings via phone apps, so I grabbed my cracked-glass phone, put tape on it so I don't cut my fingers on it, loaded this one and my recently retired Samsung up with apps and started letting 'em make me some credits/money.
There are a few r/l friends who I know are laughin' their arses off at me 'cos I explained what I am doing and to them, the number of apps I use and my explanation of how they work, along with with details of the earning programs just seems ludicrous, complicated for the amount of earnings.
Here's the rebuttal on that issue: the explanations are necessary but it's like learning computer stuff for the first time. At first computers are confusing and it seems like there's too much to learn and that the early steps aren't worth the effort. However, once the basics are set, things are easy, and computers save us a lot of time - once we've learned the basics and are no longer overwhelmed by explanations of functions, etc.
Same thing here. If I take out the explanations and simplify everything, it works out like this:
Broken phone but still functional/online-capable + load apps + run apps = credits.
Credits = convert to Paypal cash or to gift cards so my money stays in my pocket
That's it!
And I've turned my NEW Phone into a money-maker, too... with Shopping apps and by getting any apps onto my phone that are associated with stores I shop at/use. Sometimes money saved is the same as money earned, isn't it? If it all comes down to me having to spend less of my pocket money - so that I can bank that elsewhere, it's all beneficial to me. I didn't know, until I did a dedicated search, just how many store apps are available and how their rewards work.
In Canada SUPERSTORE/No Frills has an outstanding savings program, store card, cell phone apps.
There's a shopping app I use aside from the Superstore/No Frills app and card that is allowed to be used in conjunction with any Superstore/No Frills sales and offers, and this new app actually pays for you to buy certain items. When your balance reaches $20, this app/business sends you out $20! And that is aside from any deals you get from Superstore/No Frills offers. No Frills happens to be the nearest major grocery store near my house, so this is great for me!
I haven't done any major extra work here to earn money - I just made some major changes in how I go about doing daily things!
I took a broken but still functional phone out of a drawer, paired it with another out of service, still functional cell phone and run two different site app programs on them, and I check phone apps before doing my necessary shopping... ch-ching. Money!

Making More With Old Cell Phones Than With Marketing
I stopped surfing for a few weeks to get some offline work done and to test out some other money making methods via cell phones.
A pleasant surprise - I actually have had several payments/redemptions via CELL PHONE activities, and the turnaround is around 1-2 payments per week!
I'll return to surfing and regular marketing activities gradually by fitting the marketing (which generally costs me money if I'm making mistakes in presentation, timing, technical stuff, etc) back in to my schedule of monitoring cell phone videos.
Basically, when I surf via cell phone at my selected sites, I earn credits, then redeem them and that's the simplified version of how the phone activities work.
When I surf online, doing marketing, I have to earn credits, and there's no redemption reward after surfing... I must then promote something I hope will get sign ups, clicks, subscribers, joiners, sales, etc...
Wait a minute...
Yeah - I'm preferring the cell phone activities MUCH, much more right now.
There's a whole stage of hassle removed - maybe several stages - in doing the cell phone activities then submitting my reward requests - versus traffic exchanges and marketing, however, now that I have found a way to make my cell phones make money for me, I do need to get back on track with marketing activities, because those are important, as well.
One of my favourite sites to use is Swagbucks, which has been online since 2008, is rated A+ with the BBB, and has a solid payout record.

Now, I've been a member at Swagbucks for a few years but only RECENTLY learned how to manage my activities on site and with the Swagbucks phone apps to create some pretty cool income. (There are a ton of TEENAGERS in this group I mentioned above... it was teens who showed me how to get my old phone set up to make me money, use Swagbucks and a couple of other sites just right, so that I can have 2-8 payouts/redemptions per month, mostly through a few online activities combined with cell phone cash generating vids and activities).
Above is a screenshot of my June participation at Swagbucks. Daily login and participation in all the "minimum" activities to earn has made an absolutely HUGE difference in whether or not I earn at Swagbucks. I have had 2 redemptions/cashouts in June - and I have been at a level to cashout a third time already this month but I am stacking my sb-currency to be able to cashout larger sums (to paypal) and bigger rewards (in gift cards, mostly I select Amazon rewards).
The absolute minimum activity requirements/goals I set for myself take up 30-45 min per day while I run the apps on my phone consistently. If I want to make more (and I do, I have been), I participate more, watching more videos on-site, doing some easy surveys (**Big Tip: Swagbucks credits you even when you start a survey and disqualify - unlike most other sites I know that have surveys... you'll get at least a credit for attempting the survey), and basically doing nothing at all difficult!
I'm also using another, similar site, Perk (I'll post about it soon - it has more apps and is a little more complicated than Swagbucks, however, I've redeemed/cashed out twice from Perk this month, too, and am also banking/stacking current credits for higher redemptions/cashout value).
I use other apps - a few I can't mention in detail here because they're "games of chance" and "Big G/blogspot" doesn't allow advertising them in detail on this kind of blog. I'll get around to posting about the other apps soon.
For now, Perk and Swagbucks are my go-to sites! Especially Swagbucks because I actually am ENJOYING many of the videos I'm viewing. (For Perk, I enjoy the GAMES more than the videos, but as already mentioned, I'll write about Perk soon).

Moving Forward (painfully) After TTP Team
Well, I'm moving forward after the TTP Case study. I've been hanging around the main "core" of TTP challenge/Case Study people ever since December; a bunch that are solidly becoming a tribe, TAOLIFETRIBE.
Mostly, I'm a blogger (who needs to improve consistency), then a PTR/PTC-er, then a SL-er (Safelists, mailers), and finally - a marketer.
Truthfully, I've always HATED most marketing because so much manipulation can come into play in advertising, promoting, etc. Even when attempting to be an honest marketer, one is inundated with covert hype, product and service pitches, all day long. It's EVERYWHERE and unavoidable in this money making arena.
Offline, I study in the Radical Humanities as a lifelong learner. This means philosophy and a 5 core discipline approach to learning. My expertise, offline, is in poverty/oppression studies.
I'm providing this background in this post in an attempt to explain the HORROR I feel when I turn to what is supposed to be the great modern equalizer - the internet, for money making...
Essentially, the beginner or little guy (again, the marginalized and impoverished) is pushed far to the margins, then bombarded with covert marketing jargon when he (or she) looks to make money online. Immediately, a person is told/asked, "it takes money to make money," "you're paying for your future - how much is your future worth to you?" and made to feel like something is wrong with a person for not upgrading, buying, forking funds into an as yet abstract and undefined future.
In absolute truth, the only activity I've made money at online for absolutely FREE has been blogging/writing - and I've made THE MOST money out of all my online money making activities over a decade, via writing. The only thing about blogging/writing for cash is that it is a lot of work and I have lost the routine of if over the past 2 years.
I learn while I'm writing, so what I've just learned in writing this post is that I need to put back in place some online financial backup plans - writing - regularly and do marketing, list-building in short bursts daily, having my writing funds carry me forward.
Strangely enough, I'm branded quite well elsewhere with my writing persona. Most who follow my articles/blogs believe am a GUY writer and I can't shake that perception so I go with it. The branding is already firmly set, so actually I DO KNOW quite a bit about branding. My failure to brand in marketing circles is sort of on purpose. I like my writer more than my IM-er, I guess.
Well, this post is certainly not what most would expect, I suppose... it went a direction I didn't expect, either, so with that in mind, I'm going to post and then head over to see what my male writing persona has sitting in draft... (I'll swirl some URLs around and "Market" later with TAOLIFETRIBE people).
I guess that moving painfully forward also means going back at least a bit to something THAT WORKS for me, so I won't be sad or upset that I'll spend just a little less time marketing.

On an interactive learning curve...
A few days ago - just over a week ago, that is (On December 3, 2014) - I followed someone's twitter message/link and got myself into a whole bunch of BUSY...
The twitter message said that said a traffic exchange owner was giving away free upgrades, along with this in the twitterer's comment box:
"WHAT!?"
The message also held a link to a spreecast that was in progress where a TE owner was, indeed, giving out free upgrades...
With a catch.
The catch is... that the people receiving the upgrades would work with the TE owner via skype over the next 30 days to promote and get TE referrals. In a "case study" akin to a 30 day challenge/contest.
The TE owner wanted to see how people are promoting - that is, everyday "Joes" and a couple of "Janes" - how people spend their time promoting TEs in TEs and other advertising and social sites...

I'm learning a LOT from Tony Tezak's comments and suggestions in Skype chat and from other participants in the challenge/study...
For part of several days, participants have just been VIBRATING with energy, floating in and out of the skype chat that gets opened every day and closes whenever the last one of us that is awake falls off a chair haha. Sometimes there is grabbing of others' links, promoting others... it's pretty cool.
I'm slow off the mark but working steadily here - NO REFERRALS yet but I'm not sure this venture is going to be a "successful money-maker" but instead might just be one of those interactive learning curve experiences - and a good one.
I'll update again once I get a bit more TE pages viewed... and will also gather some links that fellow participants are working with, articles they're writing and sharing that are basically turning into a bunch of team work!

One Thing I Pay For - Shockwave Traffic
The way I operate, most of the earning/traffic sites I use are with a free membership until I earn enough funds to earn an upgrade or purchase I want to make at a particular site.
I got involved with one Traffic Exchange, Shockwave Traffic, that only allows a short free membership time period. Then you have to upgrade to have a working account. I have the lower upgrade (a monthly subscription, under $5US per month) in effect currently but am impressed with this site and hope to work myself up to the top upgrade (under $20/mo).

Earning Tiny is Okay!
This might not be what everyone wants to hear but for go-getters and people who don't mind working hard, there are tiny bits of cash to be found all over the net.
Working with PTC, PTR, PTP, and Traffic Exchange programs and links will be time-consuming at first but the income generated from these programs is pretty stable, depending on YOUR personal adherence to daily necessary tasks.
Once you overcome the easy but pointed tasks of logging in to multiple sites, arranging links to where they're supposed to go for promoting and earning, and once you reach some surfing milestones so that you're on the plus side of many credits, earning gets easier.
On your way to earning credits (while you're surfing the Traffic Exchanges), you're going to come across hundreds of pages suggesting that you do something EASIER, FASTER to earn money. If you've got the cash in your payment processors to fork out for the easier, faster programs, by all means, try them... but beware - most are going to be earning programs that depend on other peoples' actions. In other words, you're going to have to rely on a lot of other people to earn with most high ticket programs and sites. You'll probably have to depend on other people buying stuff in order to earn.
I like PTC and PTR programs because I earn whether I get one, fifteen, a hundred or NO referrals at all. I never earn if I don't log in and click links, but then again, if I DO log in and click links, my earnings are mostly due to my own work. This is slow going and slow earning by myself and of course referrals are welcome but again I'll say in another way - with PTC and PTR programs I earn based on my own efforts and don't necessarily have to rely on other people in order to make money.
Currently, I have $2 - $42 in a number of programs and estimate that I have around $200 sitting in various PTR/PTC site dashboards. This estimate is low and conservative as I have been using earned funds for internal upgrades and purchases in many programs - the internal workings are hard to make claims about as sometimes credits are more useful than small cash amounts. Anyway, for some earning programs, the minimum cashout is $2, $3, $5, or $10 and in some programs I've reached a low level minimum cashout but am not concerned with cashing out under fifteen or twenty dollars right now (I'm saving up more to cash out just before Christmas this year!).
e.g. My Clixsense balance is over $40, my Cash n Hits balance is over $7 right now, and I just re-started earning with Wordlinx after cashing out funds and sending back to upgrade. Had I left my earnings alone at Wordlinx, then right now I'd have around $60 sitting in dashboards in just those three programs.

I regularly log in to about 20 core programs. Each time I perform a daily log in, links are waiting for me. All I need to do is click for cash...
Now $60 doesn't sound like a whole lot of money but to me, it is. I live on a limited (disability) income and click programs allow me to earn money when I'm not mobile enough to do other things.
Earning TINY sums is just fine with me - especially when I don't need to rely on anyone else to earn the money or do an action in order for me to get paid. By "do an action" I mean - I don't have to rely on someone believing any hype I pitch in order for me to get sales and earnings. At the most basic level, I don't have to sell anything with PTC/PTR programs. At more active levels (as an active referrer/sponsor), yes, I like to sell the idea of someone earning WITH me as my referral, but I never have to ask anyone to actually fork out money to me.
I just have to show up, log in, and click...
